Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset

As you read our gaming headset reviews, you might have come across two common brands, Razer and Logitech. Rightly so because they are recognized in the gaming segment, and professional gamers swear by their models.

It is safe to say that their products are highly rated in the market. In the comparison review, we took the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X gaming headset. The V2 Pro and the G Pro X are sublime units having splendid features.

The design is similar to the BlackShark product lineup. Perhaps, the only difference would be there are green accents on the cables that are attached to the earcups. But it comes with additional features like a new 9 mm microphone that is removable and flexible.

Besides, it comes with a massive pop filter on it and few more differences, which we will briefly discuss in the review post. The V2 Pro is an excellent wired gaming headset with a reasonable price.

For $200, it offers simulated surround sound and a phenomenal microphone. We liked the part where you can make use of the broad range of customization options. The headset is comfortable to wear, decently built, having a robust-looking appearance, and feels premium.

The headset is quite large, and few users have complained that they found it difficult to wear for several hours. Besides, the unit moves around on your head if you shake your head. Its audio delivery depends on the users, so your experience can vary.

DESIGN & COMFORT

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset

We have always found the Razer BlackShark models extremely comfortable and aggressive in design. They have managed to make a mark in the gaming industry. It is common to see a Razer headset among the collection of any gamer.

On that note, we can say that the V2 Pro comes with a sublime design. They are pretty light and easy on your head. As they are a wireless unit, they do not really cause any discomfort even if they want to.

We also found the V2 Pro entirely adjustable, and you could easily decide on the level of the earcups on your ears. The only difference between the Razer and the Logitech model’s fitting would be that we felt a bit flimsy on the V2 Pro.

Using the G Pro X was a breeze, and you could easily adjust the setting on the headband itself. We liked the appearance of the G Pro X as it looked fantastic, having flat black. The headband is made from leatherette.

The forks come from metal, and the earcups are pill in shape, quite exciting, to say from a gaming point of view. Our tester felt that the G Pro X was sturdy on the head, meaning that it gave the face a tighter feeling.

Besides, you can feel heavy in doing for an extended period. The Logitech G Pro X is what gamers would want it to be. It is about offering you a core functionality of a remarkable gaming headset ideal in eSports and media usage.

They both come with a comfortable build ensuring that the users do not face hardships when using them. Besides, the V2 Pro is lighter offers a better gaming session, but the G Pro X comes with velour earcups for those wearing glasses.

BUILD QUALITY

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset

The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro comes with a minimalistic design, which means the build quality is solid. When you look at the previous models, they came with plenty of gizmos attached. This model comes with the bare minimum.

The headband on the V2 Pro comes with a plush fabric material and memory foam that can be found underneath it. That was a surprise as the previous BlackShark V2 had the leather material on the headband and the earcups.

This model was soft and comfortable to wear for a more extended period. Our testers did not experience any discomfort whatsoever. Besides, the design quality was not affected one bit. The G Pro X comes from plastic, having metal side plates with the logo on both sides.

This is a wonderfully made unit, and we felt that everything about it feels outstanding when you put it together. It is a unit that comes made from hard metal and a painted black frame. We noticed that the earcup cushion was from memory foam covering in leatherette.

If you look closely, you can find additional velour covered earcups that are given inside the box. This is helpful for those of you wearing glasses and have long hair. We really appreciated this noble gesture.

We felt that they looked like aviator headsets because of the pattern surface on earcups. As they come made with metal earcups, the build quality is remarkable. The headband was soft and pleasant to wear.

Though both the units come made of different material headbands. In the G Pro X, you can find the leatherette material is used. Both the V2 Pro and the G Pros X have the fantastic build quality, but we felt that the Logitech G Pro X has a slight edge here.

The reason for that being, the extra velour earcups make the deal sweet. Having said that, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro has mesh-covered earcups that are probably the best in the segment at the moment. It ultimately comes down to your requirement and preference.

AUDIO PERFORMANCE

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset

The audio performance in both the V2 Pro and G Pro X were quite similar in nature and style. The mids and the highs were stunning, to say. Probably, the only difference between the two was that the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro came with superior high-frequency accuracy.

The V2 Pro was able to provide you with crystal clear sound quality. Even when you are gaming, there should not be any problem whatsoever. The G Pro X treble was among the highest in most of the models found in this segment.

At times, these subtle notes can make all the difference in the kind of gaming headset you search for. The strings and cymbals’ sound quality were spot on. But there is not much of a difference as far as the audio powers go.

Both the makes come with stunning audio performance and the music and dialogues when playing games can be overwhelming at times. Besides, you have a graphic EQ and also the EQ presets.

MICROPHONE PERFORMANCE

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset

The V2 Pro and the G Pro X’s microphone performance is also another crucial aspect for any gaming headset. Razer models are known for their splendid microphones. Gamers have the right to expect stunning audio capability.

This is when both the manufacturers’ software comes into play: the Razer’s Synapse software utility and Logitech G Hub software utility. The Logitech unique Blue Voice feature performed much better than the G Hub software utility.

We were highly impressed with the detachable microphone of the Logitech G Pro X wireless gaming headset. Unlike the V2 X, the BlackShark V2 is detachable. It comes in handy because you never know when the microphone may die out, all you need to do is find a replacement.

COMPATIBILITY

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset

Razer and Logitech are known for two things; one is the sleek design, and the other is their exceptional compatibility. On that note, let us find out about both the stunning models. The V2 Pro comes with a non-detachable 1/8″ TRRS cable.

You can make use of the USB adapter on your consoles seamlessly, but it cannot work on your Xbox One. It comes with lag when the USB sound card is attached to them. You can use a headset on your laptop, PS4, or PS5 effortlessly with an analog or USB connection.

The Razer Synapse software is tremendous. Several settings can be adjusted easily, and you can customize your sound level. You can do that with the help of a 10-band EQ for your music. Other features can be adjusted like Volume Normalization, Mic Boost, Voice Gate, Mic Equalizer, and Ambient Noise Reduction.

Please do note that the USB sound card is required to save the changes on your headset. You can do that with the help of the software. Now moving on to the G Pro X, you can use their software and enable the surround sound and room effects.

The wired connection is exceptional, and it comes with two 1/8″ TRRS cables. Gamers also utilize full audio and microphone support having an AUX port. As far as their apps are concerned, they both can do an excellent job.

We felt that the updated Logitech G Hub app is opulent and organized. The layout is quite neat, and it is reliable in functionality. The same can be said about the Razer Synapse 3 app. But it cannot be termed as good or bad.

However, it can get the job done and works fantastic. Besides, you can easily navigate them effortlessly and come with G Hub using support for Blue Voice. Overall, both V2 Pro and the G Pro X work exceptionally well using virtual surround sound on your PC and laptops.

We found them to be compatible with most consoles too. All you need to do is plug them using the 3.5mm jack to your PS5 or Xbox One, and you are set.

PRICE

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro vs Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset

The pricing of both the V2 Pro and the G Pro X need not be a deciding factor because both the units come with a similar price range. The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Gaming Headset: 7.1 Surround Sound is priced under $200. It is priced at $176.

You can get it for a lower rate during sales or discount period. The Logitech G PRO X Wireless Lightspeed Gaming Headset is priced under $200. It is $170, to be specific. Enthusiastic gamers can get it for lesser if they keep their eyes open.

Our testers felt that both models came with exceptional features and are worth the amount. With so many features infused in them, it is hard for a maker not to price their ware in this price range.

VERDICT

Firstly, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro and the Logitech G Pro X are stunning units. The design and the audio quality are exceptional. Besides, the units are comfortable to use. Gamers would be delighted to have them in their hands.

When you want to choose, then slight differences can make a massive difference in selecting them. The Pro X has an exceptional microphone, and so does the app on it. We were genuinely amazed by how eloquently it worked.

When you are looking for a gaming headset with decent features like comfort and audio functionality, then the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro might be a good option for you. The model comes with the exceptional build quality, isolation ability, and outstanding sound quality.

Besides, it is cheaper by $50 than the G Pro X. But you will need to consider the aesthetics of the model. They do not come with an intense LED light that can be annoying at times. Our winner is the Logitech G Pro X because of its stunning looks, powerful features, and reliability.

Razer and Logitech produce winning models in the market. However, minor differences like the V2 Pro not being able to operate on the Xbox One and a slight decrease in the noise quality can change the entire scenario.
